I’m having a fashion conundrum. I am a frequent visitor to Piperlime.com because I have a shoe fetish and they have an amazing selection of footwear. For a few months now I have noticed that Jessica Simpson has a lot of really cute shoes and boots out there in the Piperlime marketplace. Even the venerable Nordstom (Nordstrom.com)carries her shoe line. But here is my problem: it’s Jessica Simpson. She isn’t exactly the poster child for the smart, pulled together, fashion forward, girl empowered woman of 2010/2011.
To soften the blow, I give her credit for her ability to pick up and keep going, reagardless of bad press, and she does have amazing hair and skin. But there is something holding me back from diving in and embracing her shoe line and actually buying it, let alone wearing it proudly.
Between you and me, I love these shoes and boots:
But every time I’m about to hit “Checkout”, I pause and ask myself if I REALLY want to buy shoes or boots designed by Jessica Simpson, and if one of my friends said “Hey, I really like your shoes, who designed them?” Would I willingly confess to Jessica Simpson?
